The Bergh Family Records

Preface

On a number of occasions F.R.B. has suggested to me that on his death, I took over the Family Records, as I had always shown interest in them.

In order that the Records might be available to other members of the family, I began in July 1948 the task of reproducing them six fold and editing them.

The distribution of these Records as at this date is as follows:-

1. R.F.B.
Original Family Records compiled by F.R.B. together with typed copies and notes by F.R.B.
2. H.J.W.B.
One copy of my Reproduction
3. M.D.B.
One copy of my Reproduction (Subject to this Copy reverting eventually to H.J.W.B., his offspring)
4. M.B.W.
One copy of my Reproduction (Subject to this Copy reverting eventually to H.J.W.B., his offspring)
5. H.E.H.
One copy of my Reproduction (Subject to this Copy reverting eventually to R.F.B., if so requested)
(It was so requested)
6. R.F.B.
One copy of my Reproduction

A Facing Sheet appears in front of each collection of papers. On this is, inter alia, a list of those papers, records, etc. contained in the Master Copy, consisting of the Family Records compiled by F.R.B., edited, reproduced and at present in my possession.

Against those items which have been copied is a red tick - thus the Reproductions reveal not only what has been copied, but also what has NOT.

Although the Facing Sheets contain certain additional information to help the reader to understand readily the relationship between himself and the person about whom he is reading, it is recommended that the pedigrees first be studied carefully to appreciate the connection.

Date: 13th October 1948. Signed: Rowland F Bergh
