Note:

In my possession is a small Globe of 3" Diameter, reputed to have belonged to Augustus Bergh. It fits into the two halves of a case, the lining of which represents the firmament, and shows the constellations, stars, etc. It is labelled "A Correct Globe with the new Discoveries". Australia is shown as "New Holland".

Also is a red covered note-book, 9" x 5½", on the fly leaf of which is "Brig Ant's Book - coms.d. January 1828 - John H. Mills". Ther are a numer of handwritten pages concerning what appear to be Geology and may well have been written by Augustus Bergh. Also newspaper cuttings reviewing his work "An Essay on the Causes of Distant Alternate Periodic Inundations over the Low Lands of each Hemisphere etc":-

Three known copies of this work are in the possession of   H.J.W.B.   R.F.B.   M.D.B.
